“Female fat [as] a moral issue is articulated with words like good and bad. If our culture’s fixation on female fatness or thinness was about sex, it would be private issue between a woman and her lover; if it were about health, between a woman and herself… A cultural fixation on female thinness is not an obsession about female beauty but one about obedience.” —Naomi Wolf The Beauty Myth (via fuckyeahangryfatgrrrls)

Weeaboo Stories: The Horrors Of An Overtrusting Older Sister → weaboostories.tumblr.com

weaboostories:

Okay, so I believe this was my second or third convention, I cannot remember, back in 2008. It was my little sister’s first convention, and I was pretty stoked. A couple days before we were suppose to leave, she decided that she wanted to cosplay Wrath from FMA. Que rush to put together a rather…

Catdancer is a menace, and I hate how many people outright encourage him. There are many posts in forums about how ‘cons wouldn’t be the same’ and blah blah, completely ignoring the things he has done. I wish this were the worst I’ve heard, but I’ve personally seen him put his hands on young girls, carry them about, and even kiss them. He can’t be a day younger than twenty-nine, and these girls are almost always fifteen or lower. I’m so sorry this happened to you.

Weeaboo Stories: A Barns N Noble Encounter → weaboostories.tumblr.com

weaboostories:

Well, this recently happened to me and a good friend of mine last saturday. I went with my friend, lets call him J. to the local mall to see the final Harry Potter movie. We bought tickets for a later show and had time to kill, so we decided to walk around the mall. After a while I decided to go…

This is an annoying thing a lot of manga/anime fans think it’s okay to do. That’s why at conventions I keep the books I want to buy against my chest so no one can see and make comments.

I get that she might have been surprised/embarrassed, but haven’t A LOT of people posted lately about how it’s really, really rude to break someones prop? And she’s PROUD and HAPPY about it? This is just mean, even if it didn’t look good and it wasn’t the right place, you don’t break it. You leave.

Ambler Bambler: Facebook and Tumblr newsfeeds blowing up with "Amy Winehouse died" → randomlancila.tumblr.com

kylathegreat:

bodymassage:

92 people died in the Norway terrorist attack. Both sad. But, priorities, people.

Priorities ? What do you suggest we do about Oslo ? What’s wrong with taking the tragedy of Amy’s death as an opportunity to highlight the seriousness of addiction ? Why does…

I’m getting sick of this…

91 people die in Norway and you care about ONE drug addict?

10,000 people die of starvation in Somalia, and you care about 91 Norwegians?!

300,000 people die every hour, and you care about 10,000 Somalians?!

Point: You choose what to focus on. You can’t grief for the whole world, or you would never be able to feel any happiness. Stop trying to get other people to follow your way of thinking and stop feeling like it is your duty to force people to see the ‘truth’ of an issue.
